Does any one know how to get to the rear of the heater fan switch
on a 1991 S2? Mine has packed up on speeds 0-3 but is OK full blast (#4) it
also blows OK with the windscreen demist. I've tried access by removing the
glove box but it's too tight. Any Ideas ?
Do you know about the overload sensor? When you select a speed less than full
blast you switch in one or more resistors. These generate heat so Porsche in
their wisdom put in a sensor to prevent them getting too hot. Normally mine
is OK, but if I leave it in the sun all day then all I get is full power until
the sensor cools a bit. Luckily we dont get too much sun!!!!! The sensor is
much more accessable than the switch! Mick C - 21st June,

If your fan stops working on positions 0,1,2 & 3 (but not 4): This problem is a common one, the cause being burning of the contacts on the resistor pack located near the fan motor (under the bonnet, at the front of the windscreen). The resistor pack has a long black connector and is white, held in place with a couple of cross head screws. Remove the pack, and clean up the contact points and this should resolve it.
