Have just been stranded by my alarm system- further investigation revealed that the Clifford Blackjax box had melted (last owner was a bit paranoid about theft!)- it had been installed along with other components under the ash tray- next to some resistors- creating a potential fire hazard- I am in contact with Clifford, installers etc re improper fitting- but as I wasn't the owner at the time it was installed have no direct claim- but will pursue anyway. I am yet to find out whether it is standard procedure to install components in this area- but if it is- would recommend checking your alarm installations!!! happy (safe) porschering.
